Summer is Here
What a wonderful season
Turn on the filter
Get the towels
Time to swim
Give me a lounge chair
Let's go to the beach
The rocks hurt my feet
Wear your water shoes
Time to go home
You've had enough
We'll come back tomorrow
JUNE

Beach
running through the sparkly yellow sand,
watching the blue wavy water on my yellow towel
building sand castles in the yellow sand,
makes me feel happy like I was getting a new pet.
JUNE
By Roy V. grade 2 Mrs. Cobb
Hot sand that people walk on
waves splash against the sand
shells taken away by the waves
crabs in holes try to bite your toes
fish swimming by saying "Hi"
waves sound like a cat hissing and gun fires
I feel happy because I get to play and have fun.
JUNE

Summertime fun, fun, fun
Playing in the sun
I'd like to fly a kite, I think I just might
I'm having a bbq, are you?
Stop hiding, let's go bike riding
We'll ride to the beach, pack a peach
I feel so happy in summertime.

In the summer my pool will be up. I'll have a pool party on June 28th. My pool will be round as an orange. It will be as big as Stegosauras's hind legs. The water will be as blue as the sky. I will be as happy as if my mom had a baby.
JUNE
By Julie grade 2 Mrs. Cobb
Go to the beach,
Swimming in the water as blue as the sky
Brown fish swimming like butterflies
At sunset the sea has sparkles of shells of black brown, and blue
Home from the ocean
Happy as a clown
JUNE
By Byran grade 2 Mrs. Cobb
On the Fourth of July
I watch the fireworks burst in the sky
Of colors orange like an orange fruit
Green as a lime
Sounding like a twister circling all about
It would probably be a great day tomorrow
