Mrs. Beattie's Class Goes "Batty"

We started our unit about bats by reading the story Stellaluna. A special
corner was set up for students to go to for bat information. We hung black
bats from the ceiling and collected all the books and written material we
could on bats. We even contacted our local Department of Natural Resources
for Bat information. Students were able to use the CD ROM "Stellaluna." They
really enjoyed being able to use the computer version of the book.
Many bat facts were shared and students made their own Bat Fact cards. We
will be ending our bat unit with a "bat salad."
