Bat Cave
An area was designated in our room as a bat cave.  We had so much fun coloring the different bat patterns.  Some of the bats we made were brown or black, some were brightly colored, and some were designed with patterns.  The bats in our cave were all hanging upside- down, suspended with yarn.

Day 1
Introduction to the Stellaluna and Friends Project

We shared with each other the things we already knew about bats and the new things we would like to learn about them.   After listening to the poem "Little Bat," we got to draw what we thought bats looked like and our teachers wrote down some descriptive words about the bats in our pictures.

Day 2
Who's Afraid of Bats?

We made a bar graph showing how many children are afraid of bats and how many are not.  9 children in our class said they were afraid of bats.  Hopefully none of the children will be afraid of bats when we are done learning about them.
