The Unites States did little to aid the Jews in concentration camps during the war. It is argued that is the the single greatest failure by Franklin Delano Roosevelt. (http://www.holocaust-history.org/short-essays/us-response.shtml). It is argued that the United States did not help because they chose not to. There were anti-Semitic feelings even in the U.S. However, some say that the real genocide of the Jews did not begin until the US was already at war with Germany. Those who defend the US felt the best way for the Unites States to end the Holocaust was to defeat Nazi Germany as quickly as possible.
