During the war, the Nazis made over four hundred ghettos throughout Europe. The living quarters were not unbearable at first but when more people were admitted to it, it became worse and worse. People would be taken from the ghettos to the concentration camps. The Warsaw Ghetto was the largest ghetto in Poland and 450,000 Jews were cramped into a space of 1.3 square miles. People did revolt but they failed. Many people in the ghettos died from malnutrition because of their dirty living quarters, and the lack of good food. Another cause of death was when people tried to escape of revolt, they would instantly be shot. In response to: Research and write about ghettos, such as the Warsaw Ghetto.
